Aim and Scope

Aim & Scope

Marine Biology & Biotechnology Advances (MBBA) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing research in marine life sciences, ocean ecosystems, and biotechnology applications derived from aquatic organisms. The journal serves as a multidisciplinary platform for marine biologists, biotechnologists, and environmental researchers to share findings that promote understanding of marine biodiversity, sustainable ocean resource utilization, and biotechnological innovation.

Its core mission is to foster collaboration between marine science and biotechnology by integrating ecological research with applied technologies. The journal emphasizes sustainable exploration of marine bioresources for the development of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, biomaterials, and environmental solutions that support ocean conservation and blue economy growth.

The journal welcomes contributions on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Marine biodiversity, ecology, and conservation biology

  • Marine microbiology, virology, and molecular ecology

  • Marine natural products and bioactive compound discovery

  • Aquaculture, fisheries biotechnology, and genetic improvement

  • Bioremediation, marine pollution monitoring, and biosensors

  • Marine genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics

  • Seaweed biotechnology, algal cultivation, and biofuels

  • Biopolymers, biomaterials, and nanotechnology from marine sources

  • Climate change impacts, ocean acidification, and marine sustainability

  • Blue biotechnology and marine-derived health and industrial applications

We invite submissions in the form of original research articles, review papers, technical reports, and short communications. All manuscripts should aim to advance understanding of marine biological systems and promote innovative applications of biotechnology for environmental and economic sustainability.
